By organizing the bi-annual benefit Dining with the Chefs, the Hospitality and Tourism Management students will raise funds to continue helping local families who experience hunger.

Student volunteers entice over twenty local chefs and food producers. These chefs, including Culinary Chairman Chef Ype Von Hengst from Silver Diner, generously donate time and resources to teach CKP students how to recreate dishes from their restaurants. The guests will have the opportunity to meet and dine with the chefs and leading restauranteurs.

The Honorary Chairman for Dining with the Chefs is Richard S. Madaleno, Jr., Maryland State Senator.

In addition, this evening will also feature a cocktail hour sponsored by Dogfish Head Alehouse, Maryland Wineries Association, and a silent auction and a live auction.

Our Event

Why Superhero?

Do you recognize a superhero when you look one in the face? Do you think such men and women really exist? If not, then look, and think again.

As children we all had our favorite superheroes. We loved them, flattered them, pretended to be them, dressed like them and even talked like them. Now that we are adults, we are all aware that heroes are in high demand but can rarely be found.

As members of The Campus Kitchens Project, we believe that as a community we can inspire others to become more active, more involved, more committed to help people in need.

And hopefully, we will come to realize that we do not need superpowers or a cape to make a difference in the world. To accomplish heroic acts, all we need is a willing mind and a willing heart.

" I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people"
